Hemant was a great resource. He has excellent analytical skills. As a part of my team, he supported Technology Transfer of medical equipment. His task was to redesign the components / assembly of equipment to make it suitable for Indian Manufacturing environment keeping quality and reliability of equipment unaffected. He used to interact with suppliers to install processes required and help them in developing required tools/ jigs/ fixtures etc. to ensure consistency in quality through the process. Two components developed by him are worth mentioning here. One was the development of supplier for Gas Spring. If this was not developed in time complete production would have come to halt. He identified the supplier in Europe and worked with him closely to design, developed test jig for life test, modified the design based on test results and got production lots from supplier to keep manufacturing operation seamless.
The second was two fabrications forming a major part of the equipment. He worked with the supplier to modify the process and developed tools bringing annual savings of 960k$. He is one of the great contributors to get me GE CEO Award for fast localization during technology transfer. I wish him all the success in future.
Hemant was the pioneer in deploying Six Sigma in Zensar Technologies. He was instrumental in spearheading the Six Sigma initiative at Zensar and bringing about the need to change and improve. Apart from being a first-rate expert in Six Sigma, he also had the perfect ability to listen and communicate his ideas effectively which is essential as a change agent. His outstanding commercial and business acumen helped ease the project completion even with first-time green belts like me. He is meticulous with his deadlines and manages to effortlessly get tasks executed without any apprehension. He has instilled the need for continuous improvement in the personal and professional lives of many Zensarians who still fondly miss his presence and guidance. He is truly a plus point to any organization and has the ability to add abundant value along with playing a key role in an organizations growth.
As a Six Sigma BlackBelt, Hemant was instrumental in identifying and driving key Six Sigma projects for the New Product Introduction program for Healthcare products. His focus on appropriately applying Six Sigma methodologies and statistical tools to address critical customer requirements and metrics (CTQs) in the program helped me and my team members to arrive at practical and reliable solutions for apparently complex problems. He mentored all team members in their Green Belt projects.I found Hemant highly knowledgeable in his domain, a passionate Six Sigma champion, and a very inclusive leader.
